Nice to have you with us
Thanks for being a 'beta tester'!
What's new
We now have some new developments. Please try them out and let us know what you think!
- Widgets - you can now embed a mini profile on your blog. Click on "Make a widget" on your profile page.
- Privacy for your kids - your kids' pages are now 'protected', and only you and those you approve can view them. We're writing this up on our blog and would really welcome any suggestions or worries you have here. We're keen to make sure that any information we put up about our kids is as secure as possible. If someone tries to access your kid's page and doesn't have access, they get a notice instead.
- Your profile is public by default - we've decided to keep your profile information public to anyone that has a login to the site. However, anything that mentions your kids will be protected by default. You can make your profile 'protected' by editing your profile.
- Internet Explorer now works better - we had lots of trouble with Internet Explorer that is now mostly fixed. The site still doesn't look perfect in version 6. We intend on making the site look great for all modern browsers, but we're developing in Firefox (it's easier and quicker), and we'll do updates regularly for our IE users. If you see anything not working just let us know and we'll do our best to rectify it!
This is all about the question:
How am I going to be a better dad?
Everything is based around the idea that as dads we can make pledges about the things that we want to improve about our dad skills. The idea is that we can share tips, links, ideas and experience for the benefit of our kids.
Pledges and Pips
To get started: add a pledge on the home page, then try 'pipping it'. A pip is a small amount of progress that you make towards one of your pledges. "Build a tree house" could be your pledge, but a pip would be when you spend a few minutes working on it.
